We had such a great time photographing Emily and talking with her mom, Cindy.  The two are a FUN pair. Emily is a senior at Shadow Mountain High School.  She has great energy and stunning eyes!  It was a fun afternoon.  Emily – we wish you much success!

With the great temperatures and cool breezes, pets want to get out and play. A car ride to our studio with a stop at the dog park just before is a great outing! We are having fun watching wagging tails pose for their photos.

Taking a family portrait at the start helps the pets calm in their new surroundings:

Solo portraits is the next adventure. Zuma and Lola were pretty accommodating…took a few treats to keep their attention.

Now it’s play time – when you have two pets, it is great fun for the audience to witness the playful interactions of those in front of the camera. In this session we captured the two dogs “DANCING – yes, DANCING”. Can’t believe we were able to keep them between the lights…it was great fun!

Connie White and Steve Schettler, local portrait artists and proprietor of CWLIFE Photography, traveled in mid February to Las Vegas, NV for the After Dark photography event. The After Dark Experience was held at the Las Vegas Hilton from February 15th thru the 18th. The focus of the event was on light, and how to find it, evaluate it, and use it to achieve the most flattering portraits possible. The After Dark Experience is unique among photography events because it places such emphasis on the participants’ hands-on, practical applications using the lighting techniques being demonstrated. With mentor photographers from all over the nation, and a low ration of attendees to mentors, there was ample opportunity for attendees to practice what was being demonstrated and get immediate feedback from the mentors. Furthermore, the mentors were available during off hours, after dark, to give feedback on an individual participant’s prior work. Connie & Steve reported that after such reviews, they came home with a renewed sense of accomplishment for the outstanding portraiture they have already produced, and they look forward to implementing theit new skill-set with off-camera lighting, particularly at weddings, that they acquired during their week-long trip.  Here are a few samples of the images they created.

We had such a wonderful afternoon with past clients Jeanette & Daniel.  Hard to believe we met them for the first time on their engagement session, captured their wedding day, and now we are sharing in the excitement of their first child…Peyton Nicole…a truly beautiful little girl.

Born just 11 days ago, Peyton has such precious features…oh so tiny feet.

Such a great big yawn.

We kept hoping she might take a little nap but no such luck.  She is out in the world and curious about everything.

She tried to nap for a brief moment and we were able to capture these amazing stylistic images.

Adding a little bit of color makes a statement.

This last image makes it fell like Peyton is suspened in air.

We are excited to follow Peyton through her first year and beyond!   To learn more about our Family Photography please visit .

On Friday January 14, 2011 CWLIFE Photography participated in a great open house at McCormick Ranch.  This event allowed engaged couples to preview the newly enclosed Pavillion.

This summer, McCormick Ranch enclosed its Pavillion with fabulous GLASS doors.  The enclosed structure allows for year round events.  Because they are accordion style doors, guests can have them open if they wish to enjoy a wonderful Arizona evening!  The glass also allows for breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain, unique water views and of course the McCormick Ranch Golf Course.  All in attendance were impressed with the staff’s friendliness and professionalism, not to mention the Pavillion’s “new look”!

We had the best afternoon yesterday visiting our bridal clients, Jenn and Kyle.  They are a fabulous couple – such great energy and love!  They had a fun weddding at The Phoenix Zoo back in March. Every detail was accounted for – multi color dance lights provided by SKM, a stylish cake with turqoise accent designed by Bamboo Bakery, stunning flowers from The Garage by Ivy that were complete with decorative cross embelishments, and a tasty buffet presented by Heidi’s Events & Catering.  The bride and groom even decorated the site with Tiffany Blue and Black and of course a zebra accent!

When Jenn & Kyle first came to our studio they loved our album choices!   They chose a 9.5×13 size album, a crystal archive cover to showcase their beautiful embrace, and metallic pages to compliment the overall design.  The images jumped off the pages with the vibrant colors they selected as part of their wedding decor.  It was fun to deliver the album and re-live the moments of their wedding with them.

We had such an amazing compliment from the bride’s parents:  “Connie n Steve, I just saw the final wedding book from Jenn n Kyle’s wedding. I have to say that is the most amazing work I have ever seen! The book is absolutely fantastic! You guys do GREAT! Work. Thank You again for helping to make their wedding day the best and for capturing it so nicely so we can enjoy it for many years to come….”                Thanks Patrick & Deb, we are glad to have created a keepsake that captured Jenn & Kyle’s wedding in such a special way.

We enjoyed delivering wedding albums to our friends Howard & Erika.  They choose a warm brown leather with a light wood inlay to compliment the colors from their wedding. Simply elegant!

We hope their family members enjoyed their holiday gifts!

Given the change in the economy, this holiday season has shown more than others past, that their are many families in need right here in the Valley.  There are so many great organizations that seek the support and generosity of fellow community members and organizations.  I was recently introduced to one such organization, Helen’s Hope Chest

I had the opportunity to visit Helen’s Hope Chest today and see first hand their incredible generosity and support of foster families.  While I was there they served their 1,236 child this week. Truly Amazing!  Since this is their first major holiday gift giving, the volunteers are trying their best to keep records of age, clothing needs, sizes, etc.  Their task may seem daunting but from their smiles it is incredibly rewarding.

Helen’s Hope Chest is in need of donations all year round.  They allow foster families to bring their children “shopping” 4 times per year.  When a child comes to Helen’s Hope Chest there are designated rooms by sex and age – each room has clothing appropriate to that group. The children can choose which outfits they want – such a great experience for kids of all ages. They even have a library where children can select books to take with them.

We love animals – they hold a special place in both of our hearts.  We currently have three cats (Odie, Jasper, and Izzy) and will soon have two more (Sugar and Spice) when my parents move into our home in early December…let’s hope they all get along.  We may need to invest in cap nip.

With that said, we would love to meet your furry friends. I know you roll and play with them every day, but when was the last time you had them photographed?

Over the past six weeks we  have had the opportunity to photograph various dogs.  Here are a few images we thought you might enjoy.

We are not limited to dogs – all pets welcome! Pet Owners Too… Call CWLIFE Photography at 602.653.722 to schedule your pet’s session today.
